Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to the Lexvera website and, together with your subscription order or signed agreement, the Lexvera platform. By using the website, requesting a demo, or signing in to Lexvera, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the law firm you represent.

1. Agreement

If a separate written agreement, order form, or statement of work exists between your firm and Pinnora/Lexvera, that document controls where it conflicts with these website Terms on subscription, fees, service levels, or data processing.

These Terms apply to visitors and to authorized users of trial or production workspaces.

2. Who may use Lexvera

Lexvera is offered to law firms, legal departments, and authorized professionals. You must be at least 18 years old and have authority to bind your organization.

You are responsible for accounts created by your firm and for ensuring users comply with these Terms.

3. The service

Lexvera is a practice-management platform (cases, documents, billing, workflows, and related modules). Features may vary by plan and region.

We may improve, change, or retire features with reasonable notice when the change materially reduces paid functionality.

4. Accounts and security

  • Keep credentials confidential and use strong authentication where offered.
  • Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
  • You are responsible for activity under your firm’s accounts except where caused by our failure to maintain platform security.

5. Your data

Your firm retains ownership of data, documents, and content you upload or generate in Lexvera, subject to third-party rights in underlying materials.

You grant us a limited license to host, process, back up, and transmit that content solely to provide and secure the service and as described in the Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the rights and, where required, client consents to store and process data in Lexvera.

6. Confidentiality and NDA

Each party will protect the other’s non-public business and technical information with reasonable care.

On request, we will sign a mutual NDA before detailed security reviews or custom integrations. Standard confidentiality also applies to support access and onboarding.

7. Security and encryption

We implement industry-standard measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logging as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for configuring roles, approvals, and user access inside your workspace.

8. AI features and third-party credits

  • AI-assisted features are optional tools, not legal advice. Your firm must review outputs before relying on them in client matters.
  • Lexvera does not provide AI credits as its own product. Third-party AI usage may require separate credits or accounts billed by that provider; your firm is responsible for purchasing, topping up, and complying with that provider’s terms.
  • We are not liable for outages, pricing, or policy changes of third-party AI providers outside our reasonable control.

9. Subscriptions and fees

Paid plans, billing cycles, and taxes are defined in your order form or invoice. Failure to pay may result in suspension after notice.

Trials and demos may be limited in time, users, or data and may be terminated if misused.

10. Cancellation, export, and deletion

You may cancel according to your agreement. Upon cancellation or expiry, you may request export of your workspace data within the export period stated in your agreement or standard onboarding pack.

We will make reasonable export formats available. After that period, we may delete production copies of your workspace data except where retention is required by law or your signed agreement.

Cancellation does not remove your obligation to pay amounts already due.

11. Acceptable use

  • No unlawful, infringing, or harmful content or activity.
  • No attempting to bypass security, probe systems without authorization, or overload the service.
  • No use that violates professional conduct rules or client confidentiality obligations.
  • No reselling or sublicensing the platform except as expressly permitted.

12. Intellectual property

Lexvera software, branding, and documentation remain Pinnora’s property. These Terms do not transfer ownership to your firm.

Feedback you provide may be used to improve the product without obligation to you.

13. Disclaimers

Except as stated in a signed agreement, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Lexvera does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for qualified lawyers in your jurisdiction.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of profits, goodwill, or data, except where such limitation is prohibited.

Our aggregate liability arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the fees paid by your firm for Lexvera in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless your signed agreement states a different cap.

15. Indemnity

Your firm will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or professional duties, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

16. Suspension

We may suspend access immediately if we reasonably believe there is a security incident, unlawful use, or risk to other customers, and we will use reasonable efforts to notify your administrators.

17. Governing law

Unless your signed agreement states otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Courts in Dubai have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to the public website.

Platform subscription disputes follow the governing law and forum in your order form when specified.

18. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after the updated effective date constitutes acceptance. Material changes to paid customers will be communicated through the product or email where practicable.
